Michelin-starred chef Andreas Herbst: his career
It all began with a passion for cookingExcellence begins with enthusiasm, and Andreas Herbst’s passion for cooking was evident from an early age. After graduating from hotel school in Bad Hofgastein, he honed his skills in the kitchens of acclaimed chefs. These included Johanna Maier, whose accolades include four Gault&Millau toques and two Michelin stars; award-winning Salzburg chef Andreas Döllerer; and Mario Lohninger, who runs a Michelin-starred restaurant in Frankfurt, Germany.
And then? Andreas returned home to Hotel Riederalm in Leogang. Here, he is head chef and managing director, but above all a husband and father of three children who already share his enthusiasm for cooking. His passion for food and connection to home still come through in every dish he creates.
