Riederalm Zwickel

Riederalm Zwickel

This naturally cloudy, unfiltered Zwickel beer combines brewing heritage with the highest standards. All of its brewing barley comes from Zieferbauer farm in Leogang.

Riederalm Zwickel brings brewing barley from Zieferbauer farm in Leogang to your glass. Locally grown grain, artisan brewing and the finest ingredients create a naturally cloudy beer with a character of its own. Brewed in keeping with the Reinheitsgebot beer purity tradition, it brings together time-honoured craftsmanship and our commitment to quality, provenance and flavour.

More about our Riederalm Zwickel

How we make our Riederalm Zwickel

Our Zwickel starts with brewing barley from Ziefergut farm in Leogang.
To ensure that only grain from Zieferbauer farm goes into our exclusive Zwickel, it is gently cleaned and then malted at a small specialist facility.

Riederalm Zwickel is brewed strictly according to the Reinheitsgebot beer purity tradition: water, hops, malt and yeast. Nothing else.
By keeping things simple, we allow the Leogang-grown grain’s own character to develop and shine through. Every sip offers an honest, authentic taste of the region.

After brewing, Riederalm Zwickel matures for around five weeks in a small steel tank. It is then bottled in Champagne bottles and filled into small kegs for draught service.

Style & character

Riederalm Zwickel is pale, naturally cloudy and pleasantly hoppy, with fresh citrus aromas. The first sip is fresh and spicy, followed by a lasting, rounded fullness. A special yeast adds structure and gives the beer a balanced mouthfeel.

A fresh take on a historic beer style: crisp, refreshing and uncompromising.
Cheers!
